What is AIBE Certificate of Practice (COP)?

The Certificate of Practice (COP) is a mandatory document issued by the Bar Council of India to advocates who have cleared the AIBE.

• Without COP: You cannot practice law in Indian courts permanently. Your provisional enrollment is valid only for 2 years.
• With COP: You become a permanent advocate with a lifetime validity to practice.

BCI has introduced the AIBESCOPE app to allow candidates to access their certificates digitally before the hard copy arrives.

1. Download the App:
   • Go to Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
   • Search for “AIBESCOPE” and install the app.
2. Login:
   • Open the app and log in using your Registration ID and Date of Birth.

   • Navigate to the “Certificate” or “Digital COP” section.
4. Download:
   • If available, click on “Download PDF”. This digital copy serves as valid proof until you receive the hard copy.

Note: If the app shows “Record Not Found,” it means the data is still being processed. BCI updates this in batches.

How to Get Physical COP from State Bar Council?

The hard copy of the COP is NOT sent to your home address. It is sent to your respective State Bar Council (SBC).

1. Wait for Notification: BCI will release a notification stating that “COPs for AIBE 20 have been dispatched to State Bar Councils.”
2. Visit Your SBC: Go to the State Bar Council office where you are enrolled (e.g., Bar Council of Delhi, Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa).
3. Submit Documents: You may need to fill a form and submit:
   • AIBE 20 Result/Scorecard copy.
   • Provisional Enrollment Certificate.
   • Passport-size photographs.
   • Identity Proof (Aadhar/Voter ID).
4. Collect Certificate: Once verified, the officials will hand over your original Certificate of Practice.
